He started his career off at Manchester City before moving to the Villa in 2019.
He's predominantly featured in Premier League 2 for Villa making 30 appearances over the past 3 seasons.
He made his first team debut for a covid hit Aston Villa side when they took on Liverpool in the 3rd round back in 2021. His only other appearance was last season in the 2nd round of the League Cup against Barrow.
He played on Tuesday in the papa John's trophy against AFC Wimbledon and had an impressive game. He completed 69 passes (85.2% accuracy). He won 100% of his ground duels, made 8 clearances, 3 shots he blocked and 1 tackle. The last player we had from Villa wasn't too bad now was he.
He looks like a defensive minded midfielder who has the ability to make a pass or 2. Maybe in the Josh Sheehan mold? This type of player will be very welcome at the club. We have really missed someone of that ilk. Someone who can controll the game from the heart of midfield. Hopefully Hayden is that player.
